Illinois Alliance Update

20 Nov by Colin Bonner

Illinois Alliance was initially formed in 2020 as a program to assist players in the central Illinois areas from Decatur, Champaign & neighboring cities to advance their game further in the off season, whilst maintaining play with their parent clubs in their primary season (Fall & Spring).

Co-created by Midstate Soccer Club & Illinois Football Club, players from neighboring clubs such as Mahomet have also joined to strengthen the Alliance & develop the growing soccer community participating in supplemental club soccer. Illinois Alliance is NOT a competitor to Midstate Soccer Club. In fact, it is the opposite; A SUPPLEMENTAL program to allow players to effectively play all year round. Players play Midstate in fall/spring & can choose to play Alliance in winter/summer.

The main goals of the Alliance are;
1- Offer committed & advanced players to compete at a high level in the off season to enhance their college exposure, continue to play, and develop community relationships.
2- Combine players from IFC & Midstate to create 8th grade trapped teams to offer a solution when birth year rule threatens to ‘disband’ teams
3- Collaborate with central Illinois clubs players, coaches & families, all while allowing players to primarily play at their home club.

Since 2022 the Alliance has been committed to getting players on the field to supplement their home club experience & has created teams at all ages of high school for girls & boys as well as created 7th and 8th grade teams.

As the Alliance continues to grow we have hosted tryouts for 2011 boys & girls teams in November 2024.

You can like the Illinois Alliance Facebook page & players/coaches can request access to the team app. Help us spread the word on this fantastic additional opportunity to play.
